Flower obsession (2017) is an installation by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, where she invites guests to cover an entire home interior with faux flowers daises. The installation taps into her early childhood memories where her world turned into florals.
I find this installation mesmerizing and purely astonishing. Amazing seeing how we can turn something as boring as a grey plain interior into something so magical with nothing but stickers. And thinking about every visitor placing their blossom meticulously onto their favorite spot creates a world within the art. The installation is filled with the life of the guests. Reality turned into a fairytale that is yet pure realism.
